here is some helpful information for your review:
- The repair project is part of an aesthetic improvement for SEFC, which ownership has been diligently developing for months. Specifically, the project involves removing the original steel roof canopy structure above the exterior plaza.
- Construction will require enclosing the plaza from pedestrian access for several months, in order to accommodate the delivery of necessary materials and equipment, and to erect supporting platforms required to lower the roof canopy structure.
- On Monday, March 9, 2020, workers will begin installing protective fencing along the north and south perimeter of the plaza. Additionally, barricades and directional signs will be installed to prevent any attempts to use the exterior escalators, which will be shut down while the plaza is closed to pedestrians.=
- Access to the pedestrian bridge and egress from the annex/garage and office tower will remain available.
- The northeast lobby entry doors to the office tower will remain open for access. The northwest lobby doors connecting the plaza to the office tower will be closed.
- The garage and garage elevators will remain fully operational for all levels. This includes access to the YMCA, and the recent relocation of Brickell Dry Cleaners with accessibility from the street (lower lobby) and lobby level, along with the exterior plaza ADA ramp.
- Emergency stairwells leading from the building to the exterior plaza will be available for exiting the building but not for re-entering.
- The exterior valet is slated for temporary relocation from the north to the south side, until further notice.
- As with any work in an occupied building, we can expect some dust and noise. As always, we will make every effort to keep both to a minimum.
